An alliance of businesses in the business of water

WIA strengthens ties with Irrigation Australia

May 18, 2018

This week, the Water Industry Alliance and Irrigation Australia entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the irrigation and water industry in Australia and provide additional value to their members.

Irrigation Australia is the peak national organisation representing the Australian irrigation industry in all sectors from water users, irrigators, consultants, designers and installers through to educational institutions, government, manufacturers and retailers. It is also the Australian representative body of the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage.

Through the MoU both organisations have agreed to allow limited* membership of their organisation to the other on a cost-neutral basis. For WIA members and employees, this means you will now have the opportunity to:

• Access training and certification supplied by Irrigation Australia at member rates;

• Participate in Irrigation Australia conferences and trade shows at member rates;

• Receive the electronic newsletter “Irrinews”;

• Receive the quarterly publication ‘The Journal’; and,

• Collaborate with and attend Irrigation Australia events.

Rachel Barratt, CEO of the Water industry Alliance said, “The timing of this MoU is great for our members as it provides the opportunity for them to register to attend Irrigation Australia’s International Conference and Exhibition (IAICE) in June at member prices. This biennial conference is the largest and most high-profile irrigation event in the southern hemisphere.”

WIA members can register online at iaice.com.au and use the promo code WIA to take advantage of the special offer.

If you wish to opt in to receive Irrigation Australia’s electronic newsletter or quarterly publication, please email your details to Events and Member Services Manager Jessica Burgess.

*Membership to Irrigation Australia will not include voting rights or eligibility for election to the Board or executive.
