November 2, 2017

Over 100 water industry professionals gathered in Adelaide last week to hear from three South Australian women who have excelled in STEM careers and are passionate about raising the profile of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The second Women in Water breakfast event, held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, explored STEM careers within the water industry, opportunities for women and challenges in attracting and retaining more women in the STEM workforce.

Guest speakers included:

•           Dr Leanna Read - Chief Scientist for South Australia
•           Karen Simpson - Senior Manager Laboratory Services, Australian Water Quality Centre
•           Dr Claudia Szabo - Associate Dean (Diversity and Inclusion) for the Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences, The University of Adelaide

The event was jointly hosted by eight water organisations, including the Water Industry Alliance.
