Minister’s Award for Climate Change Leadership**

Securing our water future.

The Minister’s Award for Climate Change Leadership will recognise an outstanding Project, R&D / Innovative Product or Service which has demonstrated leadership in climate change adaptation, carbon reduction or energy efficiency in the water industry.

Types of initiatives include;
- Highly efficient or low energy processes
- Energy management systems
- Alternative energy sources
- Carbon sequestration
- Energy generation

Chairman's Award
SPONSORSHIP AVAILABLE

The Chairman's Award is selected by the WIA Board and is presented to a person deemed to have made a major contribution to the water industry either through actions or the implementation of water related programs of the highest significance to the community at large.


Members can also submit their nomination from the above award categories* for the EPA Award. To be considered for the EPA Award members will need to provide, in 200 words, how their initiative demonstrates good environmental practice. See the Nomination Form for further details.
*Nominations received for the Minister’s Award for Climate Change Leadership cannot be submitted for the EPA Award.

EPA Award for Excellence in Environmental Practice

Good for environment, good for business.


The Environment Protection Authority (EPA), in collaboration with the WIA, will be presenting an Award to one of the nominees from the above categories (Excluding the Minister’s Award) in recognition of good environmental practice in the areas of (but not limited to):
- Water quality
- Clean environment
- Local government
- Aquaculture
- Irrigation
- Innovation in Environmental Management Systems (EMS) - achieving better outcomes and water/energy/cost savings
