An alliance of businesses in the business of water

Zayed Sustainability Prize

January 17, 2019

Established in 2008 as the Zayed Future Energy Prize, the Zayed Sustainability Prize is a global award inspired by the sustainability legacy of the founding father of the United Arab Emirates, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The Zayed Sustainability Prize invites pioneers from around the world to be part of a growing community of innovators, committed to developing impactful sustainability solutions. The Prize is a significant vehicle for generating support and advocacy for the global sustainability agenda, recognising achievements in Health, Food, Energy, Water and Global High Schools. These categories align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and reflect the most pressing sustainability challenges.

ECO Solutions for Tomorrow Today (ECOSOFTT), a Singapore-based company, received the inaugural 2019 Zayed Sustainability Prize award in Water for its decentralised community water management standard, which outlines a set of solutions for source management, water use, water recycling and discharge.

ECOSOFFT has implemented over 50 projects in five countries and provided more than 200,000 people access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene.

The 2020 Zayed Sustainability Prize will shortly be open for submissions. The global winning entry in the Health category receives US$600,000 to progress their innovative work. We are seeking entries from innovative organisations in Australia and the Pacific region for the 2020 Prize.

Melbourne based company Business Outlook Evaluation are the Oceania Outreach Partners for the Prize. For more information, email Business Outook Evaluation or go to the website. Submissions are open until 30 May 2019.
